Minutes from July were approved as submitted.
DCM Report- Jeff was invited to go to Sunrise Group and Radford Hall- lots of fun at both places.
Alt DCM Report
Maureen attended the ACM in Goleta which she said was informative. Val is looking into two locations to hold the ACM in a more central location for Area 93. The Old Timers - re-scheduling this event until 2007 will be up for discussion at the August assembly. The person heading the event had to step down ; personal reasons and they're not sure there is sufficient time to plan a proper event. Nov 2 day election will be held in Bakersfield at the Day's Inn.- Maureen said Jeff's report from the Regional Forum was a BIG HIT. Vicki didn't provide one of her own as Jeff's covered everything. Yeah Jeff!!! On Saturday, July 19th ; attended the "Delegate Day" at the Burbank Group. Maureen said Vicki did a fabulous job giving her report. Event was well attended ;lots of great eats. Being of service is great.
Treasurer Report Melanie said we got more than expected for the book drive- will be a growing need as we discover more places that need books; if there is anything left we will distribute it accordingly or give books where needed Melanie said we got 2 contributions to our mailbox that's a good thing. Richard asked for a separate line item for accounting purposes- not to include Book money; minutes were approved.

Newcomer Packets- Richard F. Has newcomer packets for our cost of one dollar. Will give a sample for each group to take one.
Old Business-
1. Area Inventory Discussion- The Area Inventory will be on Aug 20 ( see below) There will be 6 topics with 6 tables; Jeff said we will have outside moderators; Jeff said all are welcome and encouraged to discuss topics; each GSR will visit 3 tables and to spread out if we can to cover all the bases. " divide and conquer" Jeff said thru these topics the motivation was to stimulate conversation for a group conscience This event will ebb and flow; and that what matters is what's left standing; like a good 4th step inventory
Old Business- (cont.)
Michael said good stuff; that the questions raised under the topics to be discussed were
penetrating; Sharon said great job on the questions. Jeff said he was on the AD HOC committee for questions and that he looked at over 20 Area Inventories ; he said he got info from New York; Hawaii etc that's how he got his ideas. Jeff emphasized that if these questions jump out at you; to take that with you and sit down at a table; ( there was a separate handout on the 6 tables and questions)
2. Ad Hoc Report- Book Drive/ Senior Centers/ Libraries/ High schools- Steve said lots of Big Books were donated- and that we will distribute them when our schedules allow; There was an open discussion about if we need to say where the books were donated from; Jeff said it should be an act of humility; and that a local contact would be helpful. We agreed to have a stamp inside for help in San Fernando Valley contact Central Office with a phone number.
Also thought it might be a good idea to keep a website posted where the books are distributed and when so others could keep tabs and be of help. Jeff and I agreed to be in contact on that.
New Business-
New Parolee Project- ( dist 17) Melanie said she needs to give up her commitment She has been doing it for 2 years ; wants a volunteer to take it over; said to think about it gave her phone number- Jeff asked us to ask our groups to participate.
Open Discussion...... What's going on?
Mark said Bob Fisher said that portion allotted is 60% to Central Office- he will call and ask? Jeff suggested where spirituality and money mix; some groups do a 25 split all across they need to keep it local;
also Mark said there is little or no interest in GSR donations.
