Minutes from November Meeting were approved as submitted
DCM Report - Richard W.
Richard attended the Area Assembly and election in Bakersfield. The new Area officers are Vicki Bunnell, Delegate; Debbie Johnson, Alternate Delegate; Alberto Esparza, Chairman; Jess Andrade, Secretary; Ken Schmidt, Treasurer; Peggy Duffy, Registrar. He will have more information when he attends the Area Committee meeting on December 19th. Richard also said he was honored to have served as DCM for District 17 for the past year and a half.
Alt DCM Report - Jeff J.
Jeff is happy to have served as Alternate DCM and looks forward to serving as the new DCM for District 17. Jeff also announced that the flyer and button he designed for PRAASA were chosen for the 2006 convention. He also said how great the assembly was for him and the election process and Concept 9 were interesting and spiritual.
Treasurer Report - Richard turned over the funds to Melanie. Rent is paid for December, January, and February. Report for December was handed out and approved as submitted.
Area Standing Committee Reports
Archives: Chris - At the area assembly they discussed filling the position of chair. They also adapted the Guidelines & Policies from NY to the area level for this committee.
CPC/Treatment Facilities: Dick W. - no report
Finance: Maureen/Laura - Area purchased two new laptop computers for secretary & registrar. Area 93 paid a $650 IRS fine for failing to file a not-for-profit return on time.
Grapevine/LA Vina: - Richard W. - no report
Guidelines and Policies: Jeff J. - see below
Literature/Audio Visual/Newsletter: no report
Public Information / Special Needs / Website: Maria - they are looking for a web master with experience, this is an appointed position. Jeff added they held their 1st vote at the area assembly to add a disclaimer when linking the AA website to others stating, "you are leaving the official AA web site."
Registration - Richard W. Ian’s map was presented at the area assembly and greatly appreciated.
H&I liaison - no report
SFV liaison - Richard W. - Richard is on the board. Jeffrey will serve as the new liaison.
Newcomer packets - Cathy provided newcomer packets.
Old business:
1. Guidelines and Policies for District 17: Richard W. presented the guidelines & policies and opened the room for questions/discussions. The first vote was taken and 14 were in favor of adapting these. Second vote to take place in January.

2. District Elections: Chris W. is the new Alternate DCM. Laura C. is the new Registrar.
3. Cri-Help - Melanie will head-up the ad-hoc committee with Jeffery and Steve and they will compile a brief Guidelines & Policies for District 17’s monthly Cri-Help commitment with the California Department of Corrections. Melanie also asked for a volunteer for December 16th from 12:30 to 3:30. It was also decided that District 16 should MYOB on this issue.
New Business:
1. It was voted to approve to reimburse DCM for Bakersfield expenses totaling $67.
2. Approved the purchase of a coffee pot and supplies for District 17 totaling $30. Jeffery volunteered to take the coffee set-up commitment for the district meetings
Good and Welfare:
There was 1 birthday for the month of December: Alex for 1 year
Jeff announced the GSR meeting during the San Fernando Valley Convention would take place January 29th from 9 - 10:30am and past delegate Joe Varonin will speak.
