Secretary Report – Winter - the January minutes were approved.

 

DCM Report – Maureen

 

I attended the Area Assembly in Santa Clarita.   During the DCM share we discussed who would be replacing us in our districts as DCM.  Those who are interested please attend the DCM share which is here at 5000 Colfax on February 23rd.  Or please attend the ACM in Goleta.

Jeff’s report discussed the change in the panel with Ken now the Alt. Delegate and Robert the new Registrar.  All were in agreement that is was the best choice at this point in the panel.  Alberto moved out of state.

Debbie reported that the corrections committee still needs male correspondents if anyone knows any males who would be interested in this to please let her know.

She needs volunteers who are attending PRAASA to sign up for presentations, moderators and timers.  This is an awesome experience.

We approved the change to the G & P if an officer misses two consecutive assemblies they are asked to relinquish their commitment.

We did a round table discussion “Working with Wet Drunks” which I found personally informative.  It was a nice way to end the day.

I’ve handed out the preliminary items for the conference agenda.  The final will be available in two weeks.  Please review these and get this information to your meetings.  We need their feedback.

Also, I have information on the Pacific Regional Forum.  Please read our Chairman Jeff’s report from 2006 it is full of information.

I also have tickets for the Pre-conference workshop dinner.  They are $15.

Alt DCM Report – Michael - 2 new GSR’s: Jim from Western Group Men’s Stag and Todd from Tuesday Night Positive Solutions

 

Treasurer Report – Jeff - Motion to move $100 into the PRAASA reserve.  2nd by Mike. Motion passes.  Also, need to fix spelling on the “Rafter’s” meeting. Report approved unanimousl.

Area Standing Committee Reports

 

Archives: non attended

CPC: Barry – C.A.P.I.  – Pismo Beach, Kevin headed up the meeting.  Question came up; should they have a committee meeting in between assembly meetings?  Could we support it?  Working on CPC workbook, CPC public info.  Goals for 2008 included; each district to have a CPC chair, Power Point presentation & luncheon.  Need a CPC chair for District 17.

 

Treatment Facilities: Winter – Compiling a list of Facilities to contact.  Working on creating their own “Bringing the Gap”.  We are different from H&I in that we do not contact locked down facilities; treatment centers only.

 

Finance: Maureen - no report

Grapevine/La Vina: Tom – Chair, Lori, looked at events for next year.  Handed out calendars; circulation, should they send these out as “freebees”?  Sponsors are encouraged to give there sponsees a subscription.  New Project, making Grapevine “Cans” to use for raffling off subscriptions.  Grapevine can always use articles; go to www.aagrapevine.org .

 

Guidelines and Policies: non attended

Literature/Audio Visual/Newsletter: non attended

 

Public Information / Accessibility/ Website: Paul (Accessibility) – AA has literature  & audio/video for Special Needs.  They are updating these as the versions are old.  Elderly Outreach – getting the message to the elderly.  Checking accuracy in Meeting Directories.  Working on American Sign Language DVD’s – stories from the 1st & 2nd Editions; meeting in between area assemblies (next mtg Feb.9th).  Also, bringing meetings to non-lock down facilities.  Michael (Website) – Trying to make the area 93 website clean to protect anonymity.  Randy came into visit to check all doc’s.  Area map on website suggested to account for the boarders so you can know your district.

 

Registration: Mark – All about upheaval.  Gil assumed registrar chair.  New online program.  Making sure new GSR’s get there mailings. 

 

SFV Liaison:  non attended – Jeffery alternate SFV Liaison

H&I Liaison – non attended

SFV Inter-group Liaison –  ?

 

Area 93 Chairperson – Jeff – Planning on having a meeting after the ACM.  Direction Area 93 is going.  How can we put our feet to the pavement?  Getting active in 12 step work.  Four Area DCM Sharing is Feb. 23rd in North Hollywood.  Looking for a couple volunteers.  Topic speakers for PRAASA; the Grapevine is a good resource for that.  Pre-Conference agenda just posted.  Debbie will give a report back.
