Monthly District Meeting /January 7, 2008

Secretary Report – Maureen (Winter was not in attendance) The December minutes were approved.

DCM Report – Maureen

I attended the Area Committee Meeting in Goleta on Sunday, December 16^th. Jeff needs volunteers for the 4 Area DCM share. He needs two people from each district in the Valley to help set-up/break down and serve lunch, etc. This will take place on Saturday, February 23^rd at 5000 Colfax.

Also, he is asking if any one has any suggestions or local contacts for food for that event.

The pre conference assembly will be in Pismo Beach and Alberto needs three GSRs from each District to participate and prepare and present topic reports. This is a great learning experience and fun. Please let me know who would like to participate and attend this two day event.

Also the dinner/speaker meeting on the Saturday night will be $15 and I have tickets for those who will be attending. The Alt Delegate also needs names of those available to give topic presentations as the pre-conference workshop.

Debbie our delegate would like us to take the green cards to all our meetings and have the secretary or treasurer read these while the basket is being passed. I’ve ordered some from NY as well as more birthday envelopes.

If the agenda is light we may have a round table discussion at the next Assembly on “Working with Wet Drunks”

We all watched a video produced by NY for Correction facilities employees called AA in Correction Facilities. It was great and can be purchased for $8. This is great if you are on H&I and visit corrections facilities.
