Minutes from May Meeting Minutes were approved as submitted.

DCM Report - Jeff J.
Jeff met with the DCMs from districts 1, 11 and 16 and they finalized the plans for the June 18th event.  Two of the three districts paid their share of the food expenses.  They also suggested through Debbie that Vicki B. revise and edit her presentation to 40 minutes maximum and focus more on her the literature committee that she served as well as the spiritual aspects of the conference.  Vicki’s presentation will be e mailed to Jeff.   Jeff then discussed the format for the event.  He will open at 3:15pm with the Preamble and the 12 Concepts and then introduce the other DCM’s and let each speak for a few minutes.  At 3:30pm Vicki will begin her presentation followed by a Q&A.  There will also be an "Ask It  basket.  We need to wrap up the event by 5:00pm.   Jeff also emphasized the importance of letting all our meetings know about the event and distributed new "orange  flyers.
Alt DCM Report - Chris W.
Chris welcomed the new GSR -Ernie and explained the importance of letting his meeting know about the Live from NY event on June 18th.   He also reminded us that the Archives display will be at the event and there will be an "original  Big Book on display.
Treasurer Report - Melanie B. distributed the financial statement for May.  It was approved as submitted.


Area Standing Committee Reports: 
Archives
:  Lisa said the archives committee said they lost the space they had for the archives and is once again looking for a permanent location.  They need 500 square feet and have $350 to $400 per month in the budget.  They are looking in the Valencia, Santa Paula area.  There are also over 100 old CDs and cassettes and they are investigating a more stable format for archiving these.
CPC/Treatment Facilities: Cheryl - This was her first time attending an assembly and she said the meeting was an open share of what was happening on a local level with schools, etc.
Finance:  Jeff - The Area 93 budget meeting is scheduled for June 12th at the Holiday Inn in Camarillo.
Grapevine: Maureen - This was the first committee meeting since the split with La Vina.  Jesse is the temp chairperson and they are looking for a person to take this commitment.  There is a service position on the local level as a GVR rep.
Guidelines and Policies: Richard - They are proofing the Area 93 G&P as there have been approved changes that were not incorporated in print through out the entire document.  Richard is the new Area 93 Alt. Chair.  He will e-mail us the final G&Ps for District 17.
Literature/Audio Visual/Newsletter:  Steve - his notes stated that he needs to look at a Brief Guide to AA.  He also said the committee discussed purchasing a portable TV/VCR/DVD player to take to events.
Public Information / Accessibility/ Website: Scott was informed that there are PSAs available for us on a local level.

Registration:
Laura - Gil is producing an Area 93 map.  There will be new forms for registration.  Peggy is having some problems with the computer program and tracking information.  Someone will be training with her to help expedite the process.
H&I liaison:  N/R
SFV Intergroup liaison: Richard W.  The annual Almost Free Memorial Day picnic was a huge success.  All AA Books except the Big Book will have a price increase June is.  This is the accordance with GSO in NY keeping the proper prudent reserve and we should let our meetings know this.

Old business:

1.        Update Ad-Hoc Committee - Melanie was happy to report that this guidelines project is finally completed and they’ve produced an informational one sheet for the Cri Help New Parolee Orientation for us to take to our meetings for service volunteers.  This event takes place the 2nd or 3rd Thursday of each month. 
2        "Live  service committees - Jeff will handle the food purchases and Maureen will help with the set-up.  Scott will bake five-dozen cookies for the event.  Laura and Ian will man the registration table.  Richard will coordinate the room set-up and Mark will over-see the greeters.  We still need a person to produce the street signs.
3.        Web site - We discussed the domain name and we agreed it needs to be representative of AA using the .org. We also discussed the purpose of this web site is for District 17 GSRs only and this is not a public site. We also discussed names and Richard said District17AA.org is available.  Scott will research further and let Jeff know if the space we currently have is able to have the domain name changed.  We will also investigate designing a District 17 logo.

New Business:
1        Jeff once again emphasized the importance of letting our meetings know about the "Live  event and handed out the new "orange  flyers.  He suggested we announce this daily.

2        It was brought up that our next meeting falls on the July 4th holiday.  It was decided that in keeping with tradition we would meet as scheduled.
