I’m excited that the bus bench project is moving forward District 17’s location will be at the south east corner at Lauren Canyon and Victory. The other locations are south west corner Sepulveda and Vanowen; north east corner Desoto and Roscoe; north west corner Magnolia and Tujunga. Here is the beautiful art work. These will begin running…
I attended the Area Assembly in Simi Valley on the 18th. During the DCM sharing many of the Districts share about hosting movie nights and how successful these events were. We may want to consider that as a District event.
Debbie’s report back was great. She shared that the Chairman of the Board, Leonard Blumenthal was the speaker at the Addiction and Recovery Convention in Sweden. He was said to report back how little people know about AA. She also shared that his position, which is volunteer, in the past year he has put in 131 travel nights for AA. That is being of service.
The General Service Office in NY had 1, 477 visitors in 2007 and 941 new groups listed. There are 81 fulltime employees and one student. AND remind our meetings that GSO is OUR office; there is no US and THEM. “No voice is more important or carries more weight than another.
There was a celebration in Russia marking the 20th anniversary of AA being in Russia.
The Grapevine challenge is back on!!! There was an increase of 2,221 Grapevine subscriptions in 2007.
Contributions – if each member sent $6.88 per year or each registered group sent $154.92 per year they could cover the operating budget with out relying on literature sales.
The 2011 Pacific Regional Forum will be hosted by Area 93 in Woodland Hills.
Class A and Class B Trustees will be considered for the Chairman of the Board position.
You should consider and bring this up to your meetings, what we want our families to do when we pass away regarding our anonymity and membership in the fellowship.
GSO has published “Guidelines for the Internet” I have a copy here for Michael.
We approved funds for the Accessibility committee for the ASL demo.
We approved funds for the archivist to attend the national archivist convention in NY.
Thank you for letting me to be of service.
