Minutes from February Meeting were approved as submitted.
DCM Report - Jeff - PRAASA was better this year than last year. Networking with other Areas really brought together some good ideas. I saw many of you there and I hope you were able to get the same spark for service that I did. There were 1312 registered people there 221 from Area 93. The opening was a panel of our 15 pacific region delegates all giving us their two minute Area Highlights that they will present at the NY conference, along with an honorary (not pacific region) delegate from BC. Also during the weekend we were introduced to all the nominees for pacific region trustee of whom Joe V. was presented from area 93.
Personally I was moved by a couple of statements made by our past trustee's panel of which one speaker spoke about inclusion and singleness of purpose. He said "He would much rather include one person into his home group that isn't alcoholic, than to exclude one who is." The other came from Phyllis H who is our outgoing pacific region trustee. Reading her report on the region, she gave us statistics pertaining to income and expenses at GSO and really helped to clarify the need for our group contributions and participating in the three legacies of service as an individual.
The presentations were all very well prepared and spawned interesting ideas and conversation. The round tables were quite a wealth of good ideas for me also. I took many notes and I don't want to take up all your time, but rather I'll try to introduce some of the more constructive ideas during the rest of my term as your DCM.
I went to the treasurer's roundtable and learned how we can open a checking account and pass it to the next treasurer without using a social security number.
Another form of networking pertains to an upcoming area inventory Area 93 will have. Hawaii just finished an inventory in January and the delegate gave me a copy of his inventory as a result of our talk. At the February area committee meeting I was appointed to the adhoc committee on area inventory and I was also elected chair. We had our fist meeting at PRAASA and now have a good outline for carrying out the inventory at our assembly in August.
I have the dinner tickets for Saturday night on site dinner in Lompoc. I'll need to give Debbie a head count and money by this Wednesday.
Lastly, Kathy made additional copies of the opinion polls and if you haven't received any from your meetings, I'll ask that you at least complete one yourself and bring it with you to Lompoc on the 18th. If you are not attending the assembly, please call me and we'll arrange to meet and I can collect the polls from you.
Alt DCM Report - Chris introduced the new GSR's Anita and Jimmy. Chris informed us that he is giving up his position as Alternate DCM as he is moving to Hawaii in April. Chris was not able to attend PRAASA and he reimbursed his registration fee to the district.

Treasurer Report - Melanie B. distributed the financial statement for January. She brought up for discussion whether or not she should continue to add $50 per month to the prudent reserve. After discussion it was decided to continue. We also voted and approved opening a checking account for District 17. Richard W. volunteered to secure a tax id number and obtain a DBA checking account. Report was approved as submitted.

1 Opinion polls for March assembly. See DCM report above.
2 Topics and Format for GSR 101 Workshop - it was discussed and decided to have presentation(s) by Area Officer(s) and brief testimonials from one or two GSRs. Explain some of the acronyms, GSR, DCM etc. We will also allot time for Q&A. The rent for the day is $100 the date is April 22nd from 1-3PM. Jeff will e mail the flyer and Intergroup will take copies to the next meeting. All will take flyers to their meetings and distribute.
New Business:
1. How would your groups like to see your district involved locally? Jeff was approached by Lisa M. from district 1 and she asked if our district would be interested in two things: Movie Theatre slides containing PSAs and bus bench PSAs. Jeff added to please consider the self sacrificing act of getting involved at the area level, finding a committee and sticking with it. Lompoc is your next opportunity and after that we don't have another assembly until May. This will be rewarding spiritually and will be a firm bedrock from which your sobriety will continue to grow. There are 3 legacies in AA that make up the triangle… Recovery, Unity and Service. It makes for a more balanced and fulfilling program. And it will give you something to talk about at your home group. Mark will attend the PI committee in Lompoc.

New Business cont'd.:
2. Open discussion… "What's going on with your group (s)?" PRAASA notes, etc. Richard W. - PRAASA is what really made me excited about being of service and this year was my 5th PRAASA. I attended the central office roundtable and there was much discussion with regard to the Intergroup Pamphlet. Apparently in Seattle, the central office made it clear that they don't want anyone telling them how to run their business. Central office would like the pamphlet to just clearly state what central office is and is not. Whitney, Anthony and Melanie were all inspired by attending the Trustee panel on Sunday morning.
3. Replacing the Alternate DCM was discussed and tabled until the April meeting.
