DCM Report - Jeff J. was pleased to announce that our area 93 Alternate Delegate, Debbie was visiting our meeting.  The Area officers have a working schedule through out their two-year commitment to visit each district.
Jeff gave the following Area Committee meeting report:
Val, the Archive chair, said the Archive storage facility was no longer available and they are again looking for a permanent location to store the Area 93 archives.
Ken, our Area Treasure has hired a new CPA and they are working toward a resolution for cleaning up our "Non-Profit  tax status problem.  He will have a full report at the upcoming assembly.  For those serving on the Area Standing Committees, the budget-setting meeting is scheduled for June 12th.  If the requests for the upcoming year are not in by the deadline of June 1st, no guarantee that you’ll receive the same budget as this year.
Peggy our Area Registrar is really impressed with GSO.  They have really stepped up their game and turned around some group requests for service numbers in record time.  This affects us because a number of our groups were given temporary numbers and I have been given your permanent group number. A reminder to your group treasurer to included on all donation checks to the Area your GSO#/Area#/District#.
Because the Grapevine/La Vina committee is now two separate entities, Alberto our Area Chair will be seeking to appoint a Grapevine Standing Committee Chair.  Along with this news, John Michael our area Registration Committee chair has had to step down and Alberto is seeking to replace him as well.

At the ACM Jeff met with each of the co-hosting districts for "Live from New York.   He has added his or her alt. DCMs to his email list and will have a small meeting to determine everyone’s involvement at the event from each district.  He also asked each district registrar to contact him regarding the "Does your group have GSR?  table.  Each district will have a volunteer to assist with this registration inquiry.  Our hope is that out of it we will learn about groups that are either not registered with GSO or just not represented at the district/area level.  Next month on June 6th, Jeff invited our Area registrar to visit district 17 and possibly share any tips or insights into how to make this a successful endeavor.  Our operating budget as of April 17th is between $200 - $240.  This includes food, soft drinks, coffee & water, along with the distribution of flyers.  Each district (1,11,16,17) will share this expense between $50 - $60 each.

PRAASA planning committee has now voiced a need for two additional committee chairs:  Alternate housing chair & AA meeting coordinating chair.  Please attend the next PRAASA ’06 planning meeting for more details:  May 14, 2005 10AM Ventura Central Office 321 Aviador St. Camarillo, CA 93010.

Finally, the discussion about changing the Area Assemblies &  Committee meetings from five per year to four per year has produced a motion and the G&P Chair will draft a motion to be presented to the Assembly this coming Assembly on May 15th in Sylmar.

New Business:

1        Jeff asked if we would like to have a District 17 web site.  We all agreed that we wanted a District 17 web site.  Scott volunteered to be the Web Master for District 17 and possibly aid Dave Ward on the Area 93 web site.  We will discuss this further at next District meeting.

2  We were honored to have Debbie, our Area 93 Alternate Delegate, speak to us.  She gave a brief description on the role of Area Delegate.  She said at the New York Conference it was passed that the "AA Group  pamphlet will now include H&I services.  Debbie also spoke to us about money and spirituality and the role we play in informing our meetings of the importance of contributions and how that money is allocated to help other alcoholics, even in other countries.  Debbie gave out pamphlets for meeting treasurers, which includes the proper division of the contributions.  She also said it’s important to let our groups know that it’s their voice that should be heard and if they fund the GSR/DCM the person with the "purse strings  has the loudest voice.  Debbie also stated in Area 93 there are 27 districts with 880 groups and only 10-20% are represented at the Area/District level.

Good and Welfare:
        Birthday’s in May  - Area 93 will be 5 on May 5th.
