                            Introduced ourselves and group we represent.  No Guests & Visitors present

 

Secretary Report: Paul - October minutes were approved unanimously.
DCM Report:  Maureen

 

I attended the ACM with Michael on October 19th.

  
We discussed upgrading the Area A/V equipment to DVD format as well as the ACM and Assembly recording equipment from cassettes to CDs or electronic files. More information is being gathered by Paul and Dave.

 

The Spanish central office is having an event in conjunction with Spanish H&I and the asked to borrow our translation equipment and all agreed.

 

We had a lengthy discussion about whether we should revise our Assembly and ACM schedule and only have 4 each per year.  The incoming Chairman will appoint a committee in January to gather information and present to the Assembly.

 

From our Delegate, Debbie there is a new Chair of the Board of AA – Ward Ewing and there is a new General Manager -      Phyllis H.  Phyllis is our most recent Pacific Regional Trustee.

Alt. DCM Report: Michael welcomed Amanda (11th Step Yoga) and Melanie, Serenity Seekers


Treasurer Report: Jeff             Expenses: Check for delegate day written in September, cleared and expensed in October in order to balance.  Also July-October Area 93 contributions distributed.

 

Area Standing Committee Reports: none this month

 

Old Business:
Update information on participating in local health fair – Laura contacted our GS World Services office in New York.  Also working on distribution of public information and the AA Public Service Announcement.  Maureen reported LAVC has a health fair in the Spring.


New Business

  1. PSA bus bench – discussion regarding pros and cons regarding financing, Tradition 11, use of District 17   Vote: 16 for motion to approve $400, 4 against, 1 abstained.  Minority Opinion: decreases possible funding for projects.  After 2nd vote option.  No changes, motion passes. Howard will email pic.

  2. Concept V presentation – David H. postponed to December.

  3. Open Discussion… What’s going on at your meetings?   Larry first time going to Area Assembly?  Laura asked group conscience for 1 night’s lodging.  Jeff presented cost to group steering committee.  Michael F. asked group for “help” to split the cost.  DC went to secretary of meeting, then the Secretary took a group conscience with the group treasurer.

  4. Results of District 17 elections:  

      

                  DCM-Michael F.,  Alternate DCM-Mark.,  Secretary-Paul D.,  Treasurer-Jeff, and Registrar-Howard.  Two-year terms begin January 2009.
