I attended the Area Committee Meeting on Sunday, October 21st .

Pam reminded us to please review the 2008 budget as we will be presented at the November Assembly.  Please review the contributions and if there are any discrepancies with what your group has contributed please let me know.

Donald F. is the new audio/visual person.  He is available for “movie” nights for any meeting that would like to view AA videos.

The Area is splitting the CPC/Treatment Facilities into two committees.  Joe V. will be chairing the Treatment Facilities committee.

Central office or IGR is not an Area Committee.  This is just for the different central office reps.

Debbie our Delegate reported – AAWS international committee participated in the celebration of 20 years of AA in Russia.  There are 2,000 members gathered for the anniversary convention.

The Young Person’s video submission deadline is November 30th so please let you groups know,

PI the new AA PSA “A Force of Nature” is being distributed to all the national TV and radio stations.  On a local level, all the TV/radio stations in Bakersfield have the PSA as well.

Please remind you meetings about the “Birthday Plan” to increase contributions to GSO.

The Grape Vive subscriptions are up 2.2% in California.

The Santa Paula facility which was to be out new ACM meeting place beginning in 2008 has been passed on.  The leasing person changed his mind about the rent and wanted an increase.

I attended the Long Timers event on Saturday, October 27th in Camarillo. There were about 150 attendees. It was a spiritual event.  Only those with 30 or more years of sobriety were able to share.  There was a guy there who got sober in October 1956 – 51 years sober.  They read Chapter Five from a manuscript which was great to hear.  Mark and Paul were there from our District.

Thank you all for allowing me to be of Service.
