Minutes from August were approved as submitted
DCM Report- Jeff said the web site now includes the current delegate
report on home page. As soon as he receives enough information in the status of
the book distribution, he will figure out a way to post that as well. Revise
minutes for June were approved by a majority of GSR's electronically and they
have been posted on the web. .Jeff said the inventory process at the August
assembly seemed to go very well; he ended up with the assembly tape; typed out
the reports spoken from the microphone. The information was interesting and the
Area definitely has some opinions on things. He anticipates that the ad-hoc
committee will stay together to help complete information to present to the
Area during the next panel.
Alt DCM Report- Maureen attended the Area Assembly in
Treasurer Report- Melanie revised
last month's treasury to show the Book's Project Fund separately. Melanie made
a suggestion to cap the prudent reserve at $600. Jacey
made a motion to cap the prudent reserve at $600;it
was passed. Ernie made a motion to approve treasury report approved as
submitted.
Area Standing Committee Reports:
Archives: Robert K.- He said he visited Stepping Stones in NY; ( the
home of Bill and Lois) It was a very spiritual experience; he took wonderful
photos which he shared with our GSR group and he will donate the photos to
archives.
CPC/Treatment Facilities: Karen/ Barry- Barry said they talked about
treatment centers, nurses, grammar schools, courts, law enforcement - spoke
about Spanish Material / health fairs; how effective is sober living? Barry
said the parolee program at Cry Help- reps from AA will be present to get them
to a meeting. Also very important they will have a pitch in DUI schools and
homeless shelters.
Finance: Jeff J.-Jeff said funds are available for the purchase of new
receivers this was voted unanimously. Vicki asked the finance committee if we
have funds available to fund the New Pacific Regional Trustee to attend our 2
days elections in Nov. We said yes. This is a tradition in the Area to bring the
trustees in for this assembly; it was a unanimous vote in favor.

Literature/Audio Visual/ Newsletter: Mark V: No report
Public Information/ Accessibility/Website: Maureen- Maureen said that
Laurie Chaired the meeting and mentioned that the new
national AA PSA's have been distributed. Please
contact NY GSO if you know a local TV station that would air these. Lisa said
the AA PSA is in progress; The AA Bus Bench PSA project is moving forward several
districts in the SF
Valley will be notified; asked about cost and participation. The PSA is in both
English and Spanish; Central office will include the local phone #. Art work is
a flat fee; monthly buy will be determined by amount of benches and duration of
the buy. Six monts is approx $ 55 per month; depends
on districts that will contribute. Lisa shared that "
single parents" is becoming an accessibility needs issue; any
solutions/ suggestions please let Lisa know. David the webmaster is signing off
at the end of this term in November; Randy may be taking this over for the
Area; Any Area 93 events will be posted on the Calendar; please send him any
flyers.
Registration: Ernie-Ernie said the
goal is to increase representation at meetings; he said contributions have
leveled off; we want to increase revenue; he suggested we ask who is the GSR at
every meeting we go to; home group or not; and tell them the benefits of GSR to
increase our ranks.
SFV Liaison: Larry- Larry said he has a lot of flyers for the Santa
Clarita Assembly to be located a the Valencia Hyatt;
he asked if someone could cover his commitment; he talked briefly about the
H&I Liaison: Cheryl- No Report

New Business:
1. Discuss feasibility of supplementing hotel costs for GSR's in
Nov/Tehachapi-Jeff said it's a good day to fellowship ; can we ask our groups
for help to pay for assembly- room rates are listed. Jeff said we might cover
half the cost; may spend some money to get you up there. Maureen said its an " Act of god" how people get elected ; they use
the legacy in Manual to get officers elected. Very important
to attend this Assembly.
2. PI work in San Fernando Valley- Bus Bench query- covered
3. Open Discussion- what's going on? Whitney says Unit A has a Traditions A
meeting on the 3rd Sat of every month ;he said flyers
were available. Nina asked what do you do to bring in
income at groups that are running low on rent; Jeff said you take care of your
basic expenses first. Anthony took a trip back east and visited Dr. Bob's
house- they are trying to preserve as much as possible; he said it was a very
spiritual experience.

had a birthday for 16 years; Sept 5 Our prayers for Bud who passed from a
motorcycle accident.
