DCM Report – Maureen

I attended the Area Assembly in Glendale on Sunday, November 18th. At attended the DCM sharing meeting and we discussed topics for the “Four Area DCM Sharing” which will take place Saturday, February 23rd.  Debbie our delegate visited our meeting to remind us to remind all GSRs to read the Conference Report and get your meetings discussing and participating in the topics for the 2008 General Service Conference especially the “additional considerations.”  We really need your group’s feedback. I also attended the finance committee meeting and we did a final review of the 2008 budget and the 3rd quarter statements for 2007.  We also discussed options to save money on printing and postage.

At the Assembly Debbie our Delegate wanted us to let our meetings know that 41% of the groups in Area 93 are contributing to GSO in NY.  She said there are “green cards” available for all GSRs to take to their meeting secretary so this is read at each meeting.

Additionally there are West Coast directories available for the meetings.  These cost $3.60 so find out if this is something your meetings would find useful and we’ll order some for the District.  I will bring my copy to the next district meeting.

130 people have registered to participate in the “young peoples” video.  However, there have not been any video submissions.  You don’t have to be young to participate.

Alberto – prisons - there is more female volunteers available to write to inmates than male volunteers.  We need more male volunteers.

Susan the Accessibilities chair has a list of ASL meetings in the Valley if anyone needs this information.

The 2008 Budget was approved with an amendment to split funds for CPC and TF as they are now separate committees.

The January assembly will be in Santa Clarita.

I’ve handed out flyers and registration forms for those with meetings that can afford to send you to PRAASA.  Please bring these to your meetings.
